Tandproblemen kunnen blijkbaar geassocieerd worden met hart- en vaatziekten. Maar veel onderzoek wordt er niet naar gedaan. Ik denk dat dat komt omdat een tandarts geen dokter is. En er maar weinig contact is tussen deze twee beroepsgroepen.

Elevated levels of plasma Hcy were observed in patients with chronic periodontitis. Future research should be directed on the effect of periodontal therapy on plasma Hcy levels.
The association between T2DM and the risk for PD among young adult was demonstrated.
